I love me …

The most important but often neglected relationship is the one we have with ourselves. We are often our own biggest critic pointing out flaws that we would find cruel and unnecessary, if we did so to others.

How we feel about ourselves often affects our lives on various levels especially our relationships with others.

Our own self esteem needs to be healthy and positive for us to attract people that we want to share our lives with. It can also affect how valued we make our families, friends and partners feel.

If you are struggling with self-esteem and self-love then try to give them a little boost each day with these simple ideas…

Smile…

When you are getting ready don’t just look at yourself in the mirror, smile back at yourself.
You may not view yourself positively and may presume others feel the same. By smiling and repeating a positive affirmation to yourself each day, you can help to retrain your negative thinking.

Laugh…

If you find it difficult to relax and switch off, then laughing can be a good way to distract your mind and promote positive feelings.

Nurture…

A good diet and exercise are known to promote positive self-esteem, but also take time to take part in hobbies and activities that you enjoy. Investing time in yourself as you do in others is important.

Relationships…

If we are negative about ourselves this can be projected to others, and affect how we are perceived. When we love and matter to ourselves this positivity will shine through. It also allows you to, just be… within your own space and time. This in turn gives you the ability to welcome interaction from others in a relaxed way without doubt or concern.

Stop…

Take stock of what you are grateful for. This will help to focus your mind on the positive aspects of your life rather than any negatives.

There is only one you…and that is special.
